Information
Crescent Preparatory High School offers to provide a high
performance, technology-enriched environment for students in
grades 9-12. We merge the best practices of traditional and
virtual education to create a learning environment that provides
great challenges for students in the traditional school and
students who are currently educated at home. We provide an
innovative model for other schools throughout the United States.
Crescent Preparatory High School partners with school districts
throughout the United State, to offer online education to high
school students. CPHS strives to uncomplicate the process of
adding virtual courses to a school district's high school
curriculum. It takes care of the details, providing the content,
platform, Certified online teachers, technical support,
training, server, and course support materials. With CPHS,
school districts can offer online options to their students with
minimal cost and time. Schools retain control of key policy
decisions and enrollment. CPHS helps districts define their
policies for online learning.
CPHS high-quality, interactive courses meet Florida state
standards as well as national standards. The average grade of
students in CPHS courses is 81%. Students rate both course
content and their teachers as excellent. When asked what they
like most about CPHS courses, the top three responses are,
self-pacing, interesting, and high quality courses and
convenience.
Students Best Served by CPHS -- Fifty-five percent of students
take CPHS courses to make up credits. Other reasons include
schedule conflicts, an accelerated pace, the experience of
online learning, limited curriculum offerings, homebound status,
study abroad, special education needs, expulsion, teen parents,
and a host of other student needs for individualized
instruction.
How Schools or Districts Get Started with CPHS -- The CPHS
program requires the school or district to assign a mentor for
the student who also serves as the liaison for the teacher.
Successful course completion depends upon a mentor who follows
up with the student on a regular basis. If needed, CPHS provides
training for Mentors. Then, the following steps occur:
-
The students and their schools or districts decide which
courses to take.
-
The school or district enrolls its students at
crescentprephs.com
-
CPHS confirms the student enrollment(s) and the Mentor is
sent the course material for the specific course and student
within 72 hours.
-
The school or district is billed for students who remain
enrolled after a 14-day FREE trial period. (Other payment
options, e.g. by parent, are available.)
